SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS RECOGNIZED AS EDUCATIONAL INNOVATOR BY SCHOLASTIC

Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho was recently recognized as an influential educational leader by Scholastic’s Administr@tor Magazine.

The online magazine recognized five educational leaders from across the country who overcame challenges and initiated significant changes in their respective school systems.

Carvalho was recognized for improving Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ financial situation, creating the iPrep Academies, increasing graduation rates, championing technology, and using data to improve education and garner additional funds. The online magazine credits the Superintendent with demanding better teaching and school leaders, which was instrumental in the school district’s many achievements.
