SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO TO GO ‘OVER THE EDGE’ AGAIN FOR THE MIAMI CHILDREN’S INITIATIVE
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho will rappel down 19 stories from one of downtown’s tallest buildings, the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, on Friday, Sept. 6, at 5 p.m. during the second annual “Over the Edge” event to raise funds to benefit families in the Liberty City area. The Marriott is located at 255 Biscayne Blvd. Way.
The two-day event will benefit the Miami Children’s Initiative, which works with youth, parents, residents, and others to benefit Liberty City by providing access to great schools and support to students so that they may graduate from high school and go on to college.
“Over the Edge” participants must raise a minimum of $1,500 to benefit The Miami Children’s Initiative, a nonprofit organization focused on transforming Liberty City into a prosperous community.
