19 MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC SCHOOLS WIN TOP HEALTHY SCHOOL HONOR
Nineteen Miami-Dade public schools are being recognized as the healthiest schools in the nation by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. They will be honored at the Healthy Schools Program Forum on September 29-October 1, 2013 in Little Rock, Ark.
Schools are eligible for Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum National Recognition Awards based on their level of achievement, school meals, health and physical education and employee wellness. The honorees are as follows:

Established in 2006, the Healthy Schools Program was launched in 231 schools in 13 states to address the growing rate of childhood obesity. The program is currently in more than 18,000 schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is a partnership between the William J. Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association designed to create a system that makes healthy choice the easy choice.
