SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO TO RECEIVE 2013 COMMUNITY VISIONARY AWARD

Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho has been selected as the recipient of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors’ (NATOA) 2013 Community Broadband Visionary Award for his efforts to bridge the digital divide and provide increased broadband accessibility in Miami-Dade public schools. The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 12:15 p.m. at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando.

NATOA is a national association representing the needs and interests of local governments and consortiums in promoting community interests in communications. The membership is predominantly composed of local government agencies, staff and elected officials.
