SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO TO PARTICIPATE ON BROAD PRIZE PANEL
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho has been selected to participate on this year’s Broad Prize panel discussion: Personalized Learning: Possible at Scale? on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 9 a.m., at the Coolidge Auditorium in the Thomas Jefferson building area of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Carvalho will be joined on the panel by and John Bailey, director of Digital Learning Now! and Liz Arney, director of innovative learning for Aspire Public Schools. Gregory McGinity, managing director of policy for The Broad Foundation, will be introducing the panelists and Liz Willen, director of the Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media, will be the moderator.
The Broad Prize is awarded each year to honor urban school districts that demonstrate the greatest overall performance and improvement in student achievement while reducing achievement gaps among low-income and minority students. Miami-Dade County Public Schools won the award last year.
