SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO TO BE HONORED BY POSSE MIAMI Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho will be honored at Posse Miami’s 2013 Power of 10 event. The Power of 10 is Posse Miami’s signature fundraising event that recognizes the strength of a Posse of 10 dynamic students and celebrates diversity in higher education and the workforce. Superintendent Carvalho will be recognized for his philanthropy and work in the community on behalf of young people. The event will be held on October 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the New World Center, 500 17th Street, Miami Beach, FL. Founded in 1989, The Posse Foundation identifies public high school seniors with extraordinary academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by traditional college selection processes.
