WHY: |
In the 2012-13 school year, nearly 6,600 students attending Miami-Dade public schools were identified as homeless. The District’s Division of Student Services Homeless Assistance Program: Project UP-START works with students and families who are living in transitional situations or are homeless. They need a special place where they can “shop” for clothing, shoes, and accessories for prom, job interviews, college, and everyday life.
