PRINCE, PRINCESS OF ASTURIAS, SPAIN VISIT CORAL WAY K-8 CENTER

Prince Felipe, Princess Letizia of Asturias visited Coral Way K-8 Center as part of their
official visit to Miami in honor of the 500th Anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s arrival in
Florida commemorating the Spanish presence, its culture, and its language.

Coral Way K-8 Center, Sunset Elementary School, Ada Merritt K-8 Center, G. W.
Carver Middle School and International Studies Preparatory Academy are part of the
Memorandum of Understanding between Miami-Dade County Public Schools and
Spain. Students from those schools honored the Prince and Princess with a program
that highlighted the students’ Spanish language abilities.
