W.J. BRYAN ELEMENTARY MUSEUMS MAGNET RECEIVES MACY’S GRANT W.J. Bryan Elementary Museums Magnet School is one of 100 schools nationwide to receive a $1,000 theater grant from Macy’s to assist with production costs to stage a performance of the musical, "Yes, Virginia,” on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6:15 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. Bryan Elementary is located at 1201 N.E. 125th Street, North Miami. The musical is an original production based on the true story of Virginia O'Hanlon, the 8-year-old who in 1897, wrote a letter to The New York Sun newspaper asking, “Is there a Santa Claus?” She taught the world to believe and now her story has come to life in a musical from Macy’s. The script and score for "Yes, Virginia,” are available royalty-free to all schools and Macy’s created a free, digital toolkit on yesvirginiamusical.com. Macy's introduced the theater grant opportunity to help schools stage the productions and awarded a total of $100,000 to 100 schools across the country. The school musical program debuted last year as part of Macy's holiday "Believe" campaign and was performed by elementary and middle schools nationwide.
