Local DSW employees nominated FNEI to participate in a social media challenge to promote its impact on the students of Miami-Dade. Here’s why FNEI was awarded $15,000:
- Miami-Dade County Public Schools is one of the most diverse school districts in the country. Of our 349,945 students, 66 percent are Hispanic; 24 percent are African American; eight percent are White Non-Hispanic; and two percent are of other racial and or ethnic backgrounds.
- FNEI provided food and clothing to nearly 3,600 homeless students and their families.
- FNEI provides more than $30,000 annually in college scholarships to students.
- FNEI’s Cultural Passport Program has allowed more than 400,000 students to experience a cultural activity, free of cost. For most, it was their very first cultural event experience.
