WHY:

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is hosting special events across the school district to celebrate completed school bond projects resulting from the overwhelming voter approval of the $1.2 billion General Obligation Bond. The bond is being used to modernize and construct school buildings throughout the district, expand student capacity, enhance facility safety, and provide technology upgrades at all schools.

Renovations, which were completed on time and under budget, include installation of new windows and classroom technology; repaired selective air conditioning system components, renovated restrooms; replaced flooring in media center; repaving and restriping drop-off area; correcting flooding deficiency and installation of a new playground. The total value of the project is $1.7 million.
