WHY:
In less than two weeks, M-DCPS will be welcoming students back to school. Our Food and Nutrition Department has been working diligently planning healthy, nutritious menus for the school year ahead and informing all parents of the free breakfast program in all schools every school day.
The department is offering media a behind-the-scenes look at their Test Kitchen as they showcase the District’s free student breakfast menus and the new breakfast and lunch menu items including French toast, turkey bacon, vegan chili, cilantro-lime rice, antibiotic-free chicken tenders and breast filets, along with featured daily menu items including garden salads, sandwiches and assorted fresh fruit.VISUALS:
