Superintendent’s 5K Challenge – A Race for Education
Saturday, March 4, 2023

Directly behind the Miami Dade Arena (home of the Miami HEAT)
The Foundation for New Education Initiatives (FNEI) is hosting the 8th
Annual Race for Education to benefit local public schools. FNEI will donate a
percentage of race proceeds to participating schools based on the number of
participants each school team registers.

The 5K (3.1 miles) course starts and finishes at Dan Paul Plaza, which is
behind the Miami Dade Arena (home of the Miami HEAT basketball team) and next
to Biscayne Bay. The route heads west on N.E. 8th St., turns north on Biscayne
Blvd., eastbound on the MacArthur Causeway, then loops around onto Watson
Island before heading back to the Plaza.
Adults may register as a Runner/Walker with a $30.00 + $2.80 registration fee.
Students have three options to choose from: 5K, 1-mile Run, and the Kid’s Dash
for children ages 2-9. Registration for each student option is $10.00 + $1.60
registration fee. Participants can register as an individual or join an
existing team.
Prices will increase on Saturday February 18, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
