M-DCPS Food & Nutrition
will showcase the District’s new menu items for the free school breakfast and free
school lunch meals available daily to all students for the 2023-2024 school
year.

In just over two weeks, M-DCPS will be welcoming students
back to school. Our Food and Nutrition Department has been working diligently
to continue to plan healthy, nutritious menus for the school year ahead and
inform all parents of the free breakfast and free lunch programs available in
all schools every school day.
The department is offering media a behind-the-scenes look at
its Test Kitchen as they showcase the District’s new menu items for the free
school breakfast and free school lunch meals, which include the 3 oz.
clean-label beef patty on a white wheat brioche bun, whole grain breaded
chicken drumsticks, whole grain veggie pinwheel calzone, whole wheat chicken
& vegetable potstickers, whole grain beef & cheese tacos, whole
grain-rich cornbread poppers, turkey sausage, egg & cheese breakfast
pockets, whole grain chocolate chip muffin top, an egg & cheese potato
patty, and a strawberry banana smoothie, along with featured daily menu items including
garden salads, sandwiches, and assorted fresh fruit.
