M-DCPS’ Department of Food and Nutrition is offering media a behind-the-scenes look at their Test Kitchen to showcase the District’s new menu items. Once again, breakfast and lunch for students will be free of charge.
The updated menu features a variety of new items, including egg and pepper jack cheese whole grain (WG) mini-empanadas, cinnamon toast/maple chicken sausage WG CrispUps, WG cheese pizza, tomato soup, Bosco WG breadsticks, turkey and cheese WG stromboli, Mandarin orange chicken, Dr. Praeger’s broccoli littles, “That’s It” Crunchables 100% fruit snack, veggie crunch sticks, chili lime chickpea vegan spread, and oatmeal cookies. These additions are served alongside daily staples such as garden salads, sandwiches, and a selection of fresh fruit.
