The
Miami-Dade County School Board has been awarded the Association of School
Business Officials (ASBO) International’s Certificate of Excellence in
Financial Reporting Award (COE) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
for the fiscal year ending June 2020. This is especially noteworthy as this
report was completed virtually and in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The
District’s participation in the COE program for the last 37 years is a
testament to its commitment to financial transparency.
Applicants
submit their annual report for review by a team of professional auditors, who
provide feedback to improve future documents. If the report meets the
requirements of the program, the document may receive the Certificate of
Excellence. A district’s participation in the COE program can facilitate bond
rating and continuing bond disclosure processes.
ASBO
International recognizes each school district’s superior efforts in financial
reporting to the community through outstanding reports. COE recipients are
honored for their credibility, confidence and transparency in their fiscal
management and professional growth.
Founded
in 1910, ASBO is a nonprofit organization that represents approximately 30,000 school
