M-DCPS Announces Additional Schools Participating in After-School Meals Service for 2021-2022

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) currently provides the Afterschool Meals Program, a sub-component of the Child Care Food Program under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in more than 250 schools. The program will be implemented at two additional schools starting September 1, 2021:  Andrea Castillo Prep Academy, 10201 N.W. 78th St, Doral, FL 33178, and Palmetto Middle School, 7351 S.W. 128th St., Pinecrest, FL 33156.

The after-school meals program ensures that students participating in regularly scheduled educational or enrichment activity programs after school receive the nutrition they need to learn and grow. After-school meals must meet all USDA requirements and include fresh fruits and vegetables. The meal is available to children enrolled in after-school programs at no separate charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Afterschool enrichment activities can be found at: nutrition.dadeschools.net.
