M-DCPS Hosts the 2022 Chess2Think District K-12 Championship

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) hosted more than 450 students from 84 schools at the 2022 Chess2Think District K-12 Championship event held last Saturday at Booker T. Washington Senior High.

The students, who competed in five categories ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, enjoyed much success in the competition arena, demonstrated their skills in critical thinking and developed new friendships. They displayed responsibility, discipline, self-confidence, concentration, commitment, sportsmanship, and respect.

Chess2Think is a supplemental, extra-curricular enrichment program aimed at increasing the number of students exposed to chess. It provides virtual and in-person access to the game at all schools while increasing student participation in the Challenging Higher Education for Students in our Schools (CHESS) program’s tournaments and competitions.
