The
Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has issued the 2021-22 Department of
Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Accountability Ratings. Miami-Dade County Public Schools
(M-DCPS) currently has four DJJ sites that provide educational support to
students. The DJJ sites are AMIkids
Miami-Dade South, AMIkids Miami-Dade North, Miami Youth Academy, and PACE
Center for Girls, Inc. For the first time, 100% of M-DCPS DJJ sites have
received the highest possible rating of "Commendable."
The
highest possible rating for all M-DCPS DJJ programs is an outstanding
achievement for our students and also represents how well each program
serves its students.
The FDOE
calculates DJJ Accountability Ratings annually based on up to 12 components,
including mathematics and English language arts (ELA) learning gains on
statewide standardized assessments, mathematics and ELA learning gains on the
Common Assessment, data integrity, graduation, grade advancement, qualified
teachers, attendance, industry certifications, employment and postsecondary
outcomes (Programs are graded only on the measures for which they have sufficient
data).
