M-DCPS Welcomes 400 Educators during New Teacher Orientation

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will welcome some 400 newly hired educators to New Teacher Orientation on Friday, August 5 and August 8 - 11,  from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hialeah Gardens Senior High School. The school is located at 11700 Hialeah Gardens Blvd., Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018.

Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres will offer welcome greetings during the orientation on Aug. 8. 

Participants will engage in professional learning opportunities, including the framework of effective instruction, content specific sessions, and mentoring and induction for new teachers. All sessions are designed to provide skills and knowledge to allow participants to RISE Up and become the teacher they were meant to be, the theme of this year’s orientation. 

The new school year begins Wednesday, August 17.
