MAST@ FIU BBC to Host Informational Sessions for the 2023-2024 School Year

The Marine Academy of Math and Science Technology at Florida International University Biscayne Bay Campus (MAST@FIU BBC) will be hosting in-person recruitment and informational sessions for the 2023-2024 school year from 8 - 9 a.m. on the following dates: October 14, 2022, November 18, 2022, December 16, 2022, and January 13, 2023.

Virtual recruitment and informational sessions for the 2023-2024 school year will be held from 8 – 9 a.m. on October 3, 2022, November 7, 2022, December 5, 2022, and January 9, 2023.

The MAST@FIU BBC welcomes eligible incoming 9th – 11th grade students from all public, private, parochial and charter schools in South Florida. Student admission is based on eligibility and selection is random and based on the District’s magnet admissions process, which includes specific academic and behavioral criteria.

Online applications will be accepted at miamimagnets.org from October 1, 2022 until January 15, 2023. Enrollment is limited. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of seats available, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

Students attending the MAST@FIU BBC participate in a 4+2-year educational program, which affords students the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in six years. The unique blended high school/university educational experience at MAST@FIU BBC affords students the opportunity to complete all their high school, Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in four years. Free tuition, fees, and textbooks are provided at no cost to students. Eligible 12th-grade students may also complete their last year of high school as full-time, fully admitted university students at FIU.

MAST@FIU BBC is the only public high school in Florida that enjoys a collaborative partnership with a public university and is the only magnet school in Miami-Dade County Public Schools that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the context of Environmental and Marine Sciences. The school is recognized as one of the top STEM schools in the country and is classified as a Magnet School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America.
