Starting Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will open its Off-Cycle Magnet Application Period to provide students another opportunity to apply for Magnet seats for the upcoming school year. The Off-Cycle application period will remain open through the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year or until all seats have been filled.
Available
seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis after schools exhaust
their waitlists. A list of schools with open seats will be published at offcycle.miamimagnet.com.
Families are encouraged to contact the schools to inquire about eligibility
criteria and apply to their chosen program. Applications will be accepted
online or in person at the respective school site. Accepting an Off-Cycle
Magnet seat will not affect your wait-list status at another school.
New for the 2023-2024
school year are the STArts2 program and the STEM Magnet
program – Apple Coding. STArts2, which will engage students in
Science, Technology, and the Arts, with a focus on Digital Music Production
Exploration and Innovation. This first-of-its-kind program makes M-DCPS
history by extending access, curriculum alignment and individualized academic
support for students with disabilities and English language learners. Applications
are being accepted for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. All students
are eligible to participate.
The STEM – Apple Coding program will introduce students to the same
programming used by professional developers to build some of the world’s most
powerful apps. Applications are being accepted for students in grades 6 through
8.
