The College Board released its 2025 Advanced Placement results this week, revealing that Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) students outperformed both state and national averages. An impressive 72 percent of M-DCPS students earned a qualifying score of three or higher—five points above the Florida average and two points above the national average.
The AP program offers students the opportunity to complete college-level studies across a wide range of subjects, including the arts, social sciences, languages, literature, science, mathematics, and computer science. Students who earn a score of three or higher on a five-point scale on an AP exam are eligible for college credit at most universities, providing them with a head start on their higher education. This means that an M-DCPS student who is taking AP courses could earn college credit before graduating high school, saving time and money while demonstrating college readiness.
