School Board Awards $20.6 Million for the Construction of an Addition at MAST Academy at FIU

At its last regular Board meeting, the School Board of Miami-Dade County awarded a $20.6 million project to KAST Construction Company, Florida, LLC., for a new addition at Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) at FIU, Biscayne Bay Campus. 

The new, three-story, 35,000 sq. ft. building will feature 20 general classrooms with approximately 500 student stations. The structure will include an administration suite, a dining room, a warming kitchen, and an outdoor dining area.

There will also be a covered walkway connection to the existing building, a new parking lot with 36 spaces, sidewalks and fencing, and a roadway on the south side of the property.

The project’s expected completion date is November 2027.
