2nd Annual M-DCPS Food Show Receives National Recognition in Served Digizine

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) 2nd Annual Food Show has been featured in Served Digizine, a national digital publication focused on child nutrition, school food service, and industry innovation. This recognition highlights the District’s leadership and forward-thinking approach to school nutrition on a national stage.

On March 6, 2026, the District hosted the Department of Food and Nutrition’s 2nd Annual M-DCPS Food Show, engaging nearly 600 students from across M-DCPS and 60 food vendors. The event provided students with the opportunity to taste and evaluate potential new menu items, ensuring their preferences directly inform the District’s menu development process. By elevating student voice, this initiative reinforces our commitment to student-centered decision-making and the continuous enhancement of the Child Nutrition Program.

The Food Show also strengthened collaboration with industry partners, advanced efforts to promote health and wellness, and supported sustainability initiatives through the donation of nearly 500 pounds of leftover food to a local children’s organization.

This recognition highlights our District’s continued role as a leader in innovative, student-driven school nutrition programs and reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, nutritious meals that meet both federal standards as well as student and family expectations.
