“Our story is one of continuous success. For four years in a row, Miami-Dade County Public Schools has improved student academic achievement, and today, for the seventh year, we are proud to be an A-rated school district. This achievement reflects the remarkable work of our principals leading our schools, our dedicated teachers, and the entire community working together to support student success.”
The results released today are based on new school grading scales that were adopted by the State Board of Education on July 24, 2024. Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, schools comprised of grade levels that include grade 3 included a new component based on the percentage of eligible students who score an achievement level 3 or higher on the Grade 3 Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) in English Language Arts (ELA) Progress Monitoring (PM) 3 administration. School and district grades are determined based on the percentage of points achieved with school/district performance grade scales specific to the school type.
