M-DCPS Hosts Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Educational Event

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), in collaboration with Lithia & Driveway and GreenCars, hosted an engaging Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Educational Event at Robert Morgan Educational Center and Technical College. The event introduced students to the future of automotive technology and career opportunities in the rapidly evolving transportation sector.

Students explored a variety of electric and hybrid vehicles, met with automotive professionals and technicians, and learned about the specialized skills needed for careers in sustainable transportation. Representatives from Lithia & Driveway and GreenCars joined District officials, school administrators, and faculty to guide students through hands-on demonstrations and discussions about the future of automotive technology.

“This event is about preparing our students for the next generation of automotive innovation,” said Dr. Michael A. Lewis, Deputy Superintendent of Schools. “By connecting them directly with industry leaders and emerging technologies, we’re ensuring they have the tools and inspiration to drive the future forward.”

Dealerships including Doral Kia, Doral Hyundai, Doral Volkswagen, Doral Acura, Doral Genesis, Hyundai of North Miami, Subaru of North Miami, Buick GMC of North Miami, and Largo Honda showcased vehicles and shared insights into the growing demand for skilled automotive technicians in electric and hybrid systems.

Robert Morgan Educational Center and Technical College continues to serve as a hub for excellence in career technical education, offering students opportunities to engage with real-world applications of science, technology, and engineering. The event highlighted M-DCPS’ commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in tomorrow’s workforce.
