M-DCPS Partners with FLDOH to Provide FREE Back-to-School Immunizations on Aug. 21

Parents of school-age children, who are enrolled in or about to enter Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), will have more opportunities to have their children immunized on Saturday, August 21, 2021. M-DCPS has partnered with the Florida Department of Health (FLDOH) in Miami-Dade County and more than 20 community health centers to provide FREE Back-to-School immunizations for school-aged children.

As we continue to battle COVID-19, it is particularly important that children receive routine vaccinations to protect them from preventable diseases and outbreaks.

Immunizations are required for all students enrolled in M-DCPS. Students attending school in Miami-Dade County must have a certificate of immunization showing they have been vaccinated against the following:

·      polio

·      measles-mumps-rubella (MMR)

·      diphtheria, tetanus and (whooping cough) pertussis (DTap)

·      hepatitis B

·      varicella (chicken pox)

This policy applies to students who currently attend school in the District and those eligible to attend.
