The East Coast Technical Assistance Center (ECTAC), a professional organization that provides support, advocacy, networking, and learning opportunities to member school districts, just announced its most recent list of Award Schools. Out of 35 Award Schools, six Miami-Dade Schools are part of the list. The schools are the following:
· Earlington Heights Elementary School
· Goulds Elementary School
· Hialeah Gardens Senior High School
· John F. Kennedy Middle School
· Olympia Heights Elementary School
· Southwest Miami Senior High School
These schools will be formally
recognized for their exceptional achievements in a conference that will take
place in June in Orlando.
ECTAC identifies and
recognizes high-poverty schools demonstrating exceptional progress in enhancing
student achievement for all students. ECTAC utilized the 2022 School Grade data,
and the criteria encompassed various factors, including English Language Arts
(ELA) and Math Achievement/Proficiency (Florida Standards Assessments data),
ELA and Math Learning Gains (compared to 2019 FSA data), ELA and Math
Achievement/Proficiency in ESSA Student Groups/Subgroups, School Grade/School
Grade History, and the percentage of Economically Disadvantaged Students.
